Frequently asked questions
Woodys is a B2B marketplace for sawn timber and wood products that connects buyers with verified suppliers through requests for quotation (RFQ), rather than simply hosting listings with no follow-up. Unlike a classifieds board, a buyer on Woodys submits one request with their purchase specification and receives several competing quotations from suppliers, instead of calling every listing by hand.
On a product or category page, set out your purchase specification — product type, species, grade, cross-section, volume in cubic or square metres, and delivery region — and submit the request through the form. It goes to suppliers who work with that product type and region, and they reply with their prices and terms.
The price of sawn timber depends on lot volume, grade, how recently it was cut, the shipping region and logistics, so a fixed retail price on a listing would not reflect the real terms of a wholesale deal. A buyer gets the current price for their specific volume and specification after submitting a request — from one or several suppliers.
Suppliers on the platform are sawmills, wood processing plants and forest industry companies that publish their products and answer buyers' requests directly. A supplier profile shows contact details and product range, so a buyer can judge whether the offer fits their requirements before doing business.
The platform does not set a minimum order volume centrally — each supplier defines it themselves, based on the product type and shipping terms. The buyer learns the exact minimum lot from the supplier's reply to their request.
Delivery terms and cost are agreed directly between buyer and supplier once the quotation has been received; they depend on lot volume, shipping region and delivery address. Woodys is a platform for finding suppliers and exchanging requests, not a logistics operator.
After the quotations arrive, buyer and supplier agree the terms — price, volume, schedule and payment — directly, outside the Woodys platform. The marketplace is not a party to the transaction, does not take payment and does not issue invoices in its own name.
The platform publishes supplier profiles with product range and contact details, so a buyer can check the company before starting. Because payment and delivery happen directly between the parties, standard due diligence — verifying the counterparty's details, a supply contract, payment on delivery or in advance — remains the responsibility of the buyer and the supplier.
